Background:

Beckbury CofE is a small rural primary school. It is situated in quiet rural lanes in the village of Beckbury but also serves six other local villages. The school is housed partly in the original building, which dates back to 1850, and in a demountable building erected five years ago. It provides modern spacious accommodation with two classrooms, cloakrooms, kitchen, staff room and office. It also houses Beckbury Acorns Nursery. The whole school is set in delightful grounds overlooking fields, with large garden area, school sports field, playground space and wildlife area. The school prides itself on its environmental awareness and has recently won a national competition. Children are taught in two mixed-age classes, one for each key stage. The school aims to maintain its links with the local community and with other local schools to help children achieve their maximum potential. The school has Christian ethos. It aims to create a positive environment in which all the children are responsible and secure, excited about learning and caring of each other and the school community as a whole.
