Background:
Situated in 'very pleasant surroundings' with views of Wenlock Edge, Church Preen Primary serves a large rural area. The present school building opened in 1962, replacing the old school which stands next door and is now a private dwelling. Outdoor facilities include playing fields, a hard surface playground and an area with wooden play equipment. All junior children have the opportunity to take part in team games such as football, rugby, netball, hockey, cricket and rounders. Insrtumental tuition is available and currently pupils are learning the flute, clarinet and bassoon. Clubs and activities are also offered after school. Wherever possible, pupils with special educational needs (SEN) remain in mainstream classes and are supported by class teachers and classroom support assistants.
