Background:
Built in 1869, the school is located in the centre of the village opposite St Michael's Church. The main building houses Class 2 and all other school facilities, whilst the younger pupils are accommodated in a 'demountable' classroom next to the hall. Each classroom has a number of computers including CD ROM and speakers. The central library has recently been extended and offers pupils a 'quiet comfortable working environment'. Tuition is available in an 'extensive' range of musical instruments and many musical activities take place throughout the year. Pupils are involved in community events such as fund raising, nativity and carol services, theatrical productions and concerts. Children with special educational needs (SEN) are 'fully integrated' into the curriculum and a SEN assistant is employed to support small groups and individuals.
