Background:
St Leonard's CofE Primary School was originally founded on a town-centre site. In the mid-1950s, the infant school moved to a purpose built green-field site, and the junior school followed in the mid-1960s. The two schools were merged in September 1999. A new library facility is being opened in 2004. The school is actively involved in fundraising to support a child in Nepal, as well as supporting charities for the elderly and for young children. The school is proud of its Church links and take an active part in the Christian worship in the town.
